Jorin Bloodfang's Wulfen Pack

 Jorin Bloodfang’s Wulfen Pack

Named after the original Lord of the 13th Company, which was lost in the Eye of Terror for 10,000 years after the Battle of Prospero, Jorin Bloodfang now leads a small pack of Wulfen that accompanies Ragnar Blackmane's Great Company on campaign.

In 40k, the Pack Leader must be armed with Wulfen Frost Claws, so that is how he was modeled.  In GDF, however, any of the members of the unit can change their equipment, so all five are considered to have Energy Hammers and Combat Shields.  Although it violates WYSIWYG, Jorin Bloodfang is also considered to have the Hammer and Shield, because every member of the unit has to be equipped with a Shield in order to gain the benefit of the 'Shield Wall' special rule, which causes enemy units to hit at -1 in shooting and close combat.  The Wulfen Pack really needs the benefit of Shield Wall, since they're otherwise somewhat fragile, having a Defense of only 4+ in an army where every other unit has a 2+ save.

Bloodfang's Wulfen Pack will be accompanied in battle by Halfdan the Black, the Wolf Priest assigned to The Blackmanes for the purpose of shepherding these ancient warriors of the Horus Heresy.  Since Halfdan is mounted on a Bike, he also has 'Fast' and will match the Wulfen Pack's movement speed, which will be 8" for normal Advance moves, and 16" for Charge or Rush moves.  Additionally, Halfdan's Holy Chalice will provide the unit with +1 to hit rolls in melee, as well as an additional stack of Regeneration, which will allow the Wulfen to ignore any unsaved Wounds on a roll of 4+.
